News from Game Reserve Hluhluwe You Tube Videos ( Wild Life )

The Game Reserve Hluhluwe-Umfolozi have come alive with awesome sightings of African Lion, Wild Dog,Ellephant,Rhino & Cheetah to name just a few.

Heritage Tours & Safaris has now started to upload our unique Wildlife Footage on a regular basis and do hope that you all find them interesting and rewarding as much as we do.

Please note that the majority of the footage is shot in the Umfolozi section of the reserve as we are based in St Lucia and a big advantage of this is that the southern section really is quieter and therefore offers us better sightings in the Park.

Big 5 Once Again Wolrd Cup Soccer

The sleepy Little town of St Lucia South Africa has been awoken with Vuvuzela's , Soccer World Cup Flags and hundreds of Visitors flocking in and out on a daily basis.

St Lucia , South Africa's first world Heritage Site ( Unesco 1999) is surrounded by numerous National Game Reserves one in Particular the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve this is the oldest park in Africa and with good reason. The Park world reknown for its safe the Rhino Campaighn , Game Capture and Zulu history makes this destination an inspiring one.

St Lucia itself is the beginning of the Isimangaliso Wetlands Park in the South and stretches to Koso Bay and will now also include Ponto de Oura thus a transfrontier park. Its a wonderful place to visit with numerous species of animal both land and sea based and this fortunately happens during the European holidays.

Dont be fooled by the fact that this is our Winter as the tempretures can reach up to mid 20 and tropical humidity that of winter is still experienced leaving the town folk wearing summer clothing for most of the year.

We have seen a tremendous influx of visitors to St Lucia in the past few weeks due to the World Cup Soccer being hosted in South Africa and what a experience to be part of the ambiance is fantastic with flags everwhere and supporters in jovial moods. What ever happened to the trouble makers not one here.

Sightings have been ever present with Big5 sighted regularly in Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve and good sightings of Leopard in the Isimangaliso Wetlands Park.A bit chilly in the evenings but whats a sighting of Leopard worth. Heritage Tours & Safaris manages one of 2 concessions into Isimangaliso Wetlands Park for a Night Drive nocturnal affair , this is really a must do anywhere in Africa , it will offer you insight depth as to nocturnal African hunters and the guides will explain how and why they have developed these unique capabilities in hunting at night. Other interesting nocturnal animals that one might be fortunate enough to witness on a Night Drive includes , genets , chameleons , bush babies , Hippos and many more.

Make sure you take a warm jacket and if possible gloves as the evenings may be a bit chilly during winter.

Hluhluwe Umfolozi game drive safaris have been awesome with Rhino , Ellephants , Lion , Cheetah hunts , Buffalo and of course Leopard this park is most defianately great and should be visited no matter what.
